Kagadi Town Council, September 29, 2026 — The Chief Executive Officer of Seyeya Courts, Mr. Gerald Mugabi, and the Principal Town Clerk of Kagadi Town Council, Mr. John Isingoma, have today paid a courtesy visit to the office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Mr. James Luyimbazi, as preparations intensify for the Seyeya Marathon scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026. The marathon, held under the theme “Running to Green Kagadi,” is aimed at promoting agro-tourism and community tourism while supporting environmental conservation and the greening of Kagadi Town Council. During the visit, Mr. Luyimbazi commended the initiative and pledged his full support towards the campaign. He noted that the greening initiative will contribute to making Kagadi a cleaner and more attractive urban centre while providing important environmental and public health benefits. He highlighted some of the expected benefits of the campaign, including beautifying the town, reducing excessive heat and improving the urban microclimate, creating shade, mitigating stormwater-related flooding, and promoting a healthier community. Mr. Luyimbazi further encouraged stakeholders and members of the community to actively participate in the campaign, emphasizing the importance of collective responsibility in creating a greener and more sustainable Kagadi. Seyeya Courts, a quiet, natural-style hotel and lodge located along the Kyenjojo–Hoima Road in Kagadi Town Council, Kagadi District, is spearheading the marathon and the associated greening campaign in partnership with local stakeholders. As part of its commitment to the initiative, more than 15 kits have already been procured to support the Running to Green Kagadi campaign and facilitate the upcoming marathon activities. The initiative is expected to bring together local leaders, residents, institutions, businesses, environmental enthusiasts and other stakeholders to promote environmental conservation while showcasing Kagadi's potential for agro-tourism and community tourism. The Running to Green Kagadi campaign reinforces the shared vision of building a cleaner, greener, healthier and more attractive Kagadi Town Council.
