CAO Luyimbazi James Leads District Staff in Greening of Kagadi Town Campaign
KAGADI, UGANDA — The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Kagadi District Local Government, Mr. Luyimbazi James, together with a number of district staff, has actively participated in the Greening of Kagadi Town Campaign, demonstrating the commitment of the district leadership towards environmental conservation and sustainable development. The campaign, organized by the Director of Seyeya Courts, Mr. Gerald Mugabi, brought together government leaders, district staff, security personnel, community members and other stakeholders to participate in a tree-planting exercise aimed at making Kagadi Town greener, cleaner and more attractive. Mr. Luyimbazi James joined other participants in planting trees during the exercise, emphasizing the importance of collective action in protecting the environment and improving the quality of the urban environment. Speaking during the exercise, the CAO commended Seyeya Courts for spearheading the initiative and mobilizing different stakeholders to contribute to the greening of Kagadi. “This is a very important initiative because environmental conservation is a responsibility that belongs to all of us. We appreciate Seyeya Courts for coming up with this campaign and bringing different stakeholders together. As Kagadi District Local Government, we are committed to supporting initiatives that improve the environment and the wellbeing of our people,” Mr. Luyimbazi said. The CAO further called upon residents, institutions, businesses and other stakeholders to take responsibility for the trees planted by ensuring that they are protected and nurtured to maturity. “Planting a tree is only the beginning. The most important thing is to ensure that the trees survive and grow. I encourage everyone to take ownership of the trees planted and continue planting more trees wherever possible. A greener Kagadi will benefit both the present and future generations,” he added. The active participation of the CAO and district staff reflects the importance attached to environmental conservation and demonstrates the value of partnerships between Kagadi District Local Government, Kagadi Town Council, private institutions and the community in addressing environmental challenges. The Greening of Kagadi Town Campaign is expected to contribute to efforts aimed at increasing green spaces, improving the appearance of the town and promoting a cleaner and healthier environment for residents and visitors. Kagadi Town Council appreciates Mr. Luyimbazi James, the district staff, Director Seyeya Courts, the Uganda Police Force, community members and all other stakeholders for their active participation and commitment towards making Kagadi a greener and more sustainable town.
